Over the past year we have been working on a new direction. The word videographer has become, well old hat.
Cinematographer is overused as well. A Film Maker though makes a clear statement of what you do. The artist is creating a true film or movie. A 20 minute piece that will be played right along your latest netflix or redbox rental in the ole dvd player! Film Maker. Ok we are not shooting on film so how do you get the word film to be a true statement? Hollywood is now doing away with shooting on actual film now and embracing digital. BUT! They still call it film. Why? Honestly I don't know. But. Film does sound alot cooler to say rather than video or cinema. I guess it is because hollywood is the leader of all that is movies and they can call it whatever they wish and we just say " Ok".
Film Maker. I love it. The breath of fresh air that lives in the words Film Maker. It gives us the chance to actually create a 20 minute movie from a days worth of footage and completed within a few months. WOW!
It takes hollywood a year to film and another year to edit and do all the magic sometimes more just for a measly 1 hour and 40 minutes??!! WOW again.
We use dolly shots, cranes shots, different lenses to achieve our looks and lighting as well just like hollywood. On a smaller budget of course.
Film Maker. I love it. And I can't wait to make a film for you. It will be the best thing you could ever ask for in a wedding( must I say) video. No let's call it a FILM.

Day before we got our first snow. I had to post. This creek runs behind our home. The water is probably 10 inches deep in spots. There are fish that grow to be 7 inches long living in this every year. Have no idea where they come from but it is amazing how life can grow in the oddest places.

I just wanted to say thank you to all our past and future clients. Your special days have been the inspiration for me to envision our new video styles and techniques for 2012. My goal is to always keep growing and learning. To be inspired by the special looks. The meaningful spoken words recited at your ceremony. The families that make my family feel at home every weekend and the intertwining of two hearts that become one to make a new life. That is the special ingredients that make a wedding movie. YOU!
All the coolest movie toys in the world cannot make the story that you unfold when your day comes. Not even the fanciest decore or the greatest band. The tallest cake or the most beautiful smelling flowers.
It is YOU!
Everything else just enhances the experience and makes for a visual and entertaining event.
But after the last drop of wine is drank. And the last dj light goes out.
When your both finally alone together on this special day?
There's only...YOU!
Thank YOU for allowing Ruby Media to be apart of this day.
Sincerely,
David and Lauri
